²⁷ Labor not for the food that perishes, but for the food that endures to life eternal, which the Son of man will give you; for him has God the Father at tested.

¹⁷ And lo, a voice from heaven, saying: This is my beloved Son, in whom I delight.

¹⁹ Lay not up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and rust consume, and where thieves break through and steal.

³¹ Therefore, be not anxious, saying: What shall we eat? or, what shall we drink? or, with what shall we be clothed? ³² For after all these things do the Gentiles seek: for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. ³³ But seek first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness, and all these things shall be given to you in addition.

²⁰ And Jesus said to him: The foxes have dens, and the birds of the air have roosts; but the Son of man has not where to lay his head.

⁵ While he was yet speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them; and lo, a voice from the cloud, saying: This is my beloved Son, in whom I delight; hear him.

¹¹ And there was a voice from the heavens: Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I delight.

⁷ And there was a cloud that overshadowed them; and a voice came from the cloud, This is my beloved Son; hear him.

²² and the Holy Spirit descended upon him, in a bodily form, like a dove; and there came a voice from heaven, which said: Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I delight.

¹⁸ The Spirit of the Lord is upon me; because he has anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he has sent me to heal the broken hearted; to proclaim liberty to the captives, and recovery of sight to the blind; to set free the oppressed; ¹⁹ to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord. ²⁰ And he rolled up the volume, and save it back to the attendant, and sat down; and the eyes of all that were in the synagogue were earnestly fixed upon him. ²¹ And he began to say to them: This scripture which you have heard, is this day fulfilled.

³⁵ And there came a voice from the cloud, saying: This is my beloved Son; hear him.

⁴⁰ But Martha made herself busy with much serving; and she came to him, and said: Lord, dost thou not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Bid her, therefore, that she help me. ⁴¹ But Jesus answered and said to her: Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things: ⁴² one thing is needful; and Mary has chosen the good part, which shall not be taken from her.

³³ And I knew him not; but he that sent me to immerse in water, said to me, On whom you shall see the Spirit descending and remaining, this is he that immerses in the Holy Spirit. ³⁴ And I saw, and do testify that this is the Son of God.

³³ He that has received his testimony has solemnly declared that God is true.

¹³ Jesus answered and said to her: "Whoever drinks of this water, will thirst again; ¹⁴ but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him, shall never thirst. But the water that I will give him, shall be in him a fountain of water springing up in order to eternal life.

³⁶ But I have testimony greater than that of John; for the works which the Father has given me to finish, these very works which I do, testify concerning me, that the Father has sent me. ³⁷ And the Father, who sent me, has testified concerning me. You have, neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape.

²⁸ Then they said to him: What shall we do, that we may work the works of God? ²⁹ Jesus answered and said to them: This is the work of God, that you believe on him whom he has sent.

⁴⁰ For this is the will of him that sent me, that every one who sees the Son, and believes on him, may have eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.

⁵¹ I am the bread that lives, which came down from heaven. If any one eat of this bread, he shall live forever. And the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.

⁵⁴ He that eats my flesh and drinks my blood, has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day;

⁵⁸ This is the bread that came down from heaven; not as your fathers ate the manna, and died; he that eats this bread shall live forever.

⁶⁸ Simon Peter answered him: Lord, to whom shall we go? Thou hast the words of eternal life;

¹⁸ I am one that testify concerning myself, and the Father who sent me, testifies of me.

²⁸ and I give them eternal life; and they shall never perish, and no one shall take them out of my hand.

³⁷ If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not; ³⁸ but if I do, though you believe not me, believe the works, that you may know and believe that the Father is in me, and I in him.

²⁵ Jesus said to her: I am the resurrection, and the life; he that believes on me, though he were dead, yet shall he live; ²⁶ and he that lives and believes on me, shall never die. Do you believe this?

⁴² I know, in deed, that thou dost always hear me. But for the sake of the multitude who stand around me, I have said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me.

⁶ Jesus said to him: I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through me.

²⁴ If I had not done among them the works that no other man has done, they would have had no sin; but now they have both seen, and hated both me and my Father.

² as thou hast given him authority over all flesh, that he may give eternal life to all that thou hast given him.

²² Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus the Nazarene, clearly pointed out to you as a man from God, by mighty deeds and wonders and signs, which God did by him in your midst, as you yourselves also know,

³⁸ how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit, and with power; who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed by the devil; for God was with him.

¹¹ And he received the sign of circumcision, as a seal of the righteousness of the faith that he had while he was uncircumcised, in order that he might be the father of all that believe, even in a state of uncircumcision, so that righteousness might be counted to them also;

²³ For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal "life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

¹³ Meats for the stomach, and the stomach for meats; but God will destroy both it and them. But the body is not for lewdness, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body:

²⁹ Now, this I say, brethren, the time is fraught with trials. It remains that those who have wives be as though they had them not; ³⁰ and those who weep, as though they wept not; and those who rejoice, as though they rejoiced not; and those who buy, as though they possessed not: ³¹ and those who use this world, as not abusing it; for the outward show of this world passes away.

² If I am not an apostle to others, yet certainly I am to you; for the seal of my apostleship are you in the Lord.

²⁴ Know you not that all the runners in the race-course run the race, but that one receives the prize? So run, that you may obtain the prize. ²⁵ Every combatant in the public games is temperate in all things: they, indeed, that they may obtain a corruptible, but we, that we may obtain an incorruptible crown. ²⁶ I, therefore, so run, not as with uncertainty; I so aim my blows, not as one that beats the air; ²⁷ but I put my body under severe discipline, and bring it into subjection, lest, after I have preached to others, I myself should be rejected.

¹⁸ :

⁶ For, in Christ Jesus, neither circumcision avails any thing, nor uncircumcision, but faith that works by love.

¹³ for it is God, who, of his good pleasure, works in you both the will and the power to perform.

²⁹ to which end I also labor, striving according to his energy, which works in me mightily.

²² (all of which are for the destruction of those who use them,) according to the commandments and teachings of men;

² mind the things that are above, not the things that are on the earth:

³ remembering unceasingly your work, which is the result of faith, your labor, the cause of which is love, and your patience, which springs from your hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of our God and Father:

¹⁹ But the foundation of God stands firm, having this inscription: The Lord knows those who are his; and, Let every one that names the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

¹¹ Let us earnestly strive, therefore, to enter into that rest, lest any one fall after the same example of unbelief.

¹⁶ lest there be any lewd person, or profane man, as Esau, who, for a single meal, sold his birthright.

¹¹ For the sun rises with its burning heat, and withers the grass, and its flower falls, and the beauty of its form perishes. So, also, shall the rich man fade away in his ways.

²⁴ For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass; the grass withers, and its flower fails away: but the word of the Lord abides forever: and this is the word which has been preached as gospel to you.

¹⁷ For he received from God the Father honor and glory, when there came to him from the magnificent glory a voice, such as this: This is my beloved Son, in whom I delight.

¹¹ Seeing, then, that all these things shall be dissolved, what sort of persons ought you to be in all holy behavior, and godliness, ¹² looking for and earnestly desiring the coming of the day of God, because of which coming the heavens shall dis solve in fire, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat. ¹³ But we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, in which dwells righteousness. ¹⁴ Wherefore, beloved, seeing that you expect such things, earnestly strive, by being spotless and blameless, to be found by him in peace:
