"Now his elder son was in a field; and as, in coming, he drew near to the house, he heard music and dancing.
And, calling to him one of the young men, he inquired of him, what these things might be.
And he said to him, 'Your brother has come; and your father killed the fatted calf, because he received him in sound health.'
But he was angry, and was not willing to go in; but his father, coming out, kept entreating him.
But he, answering, said to his father, 'Behold, so many years do I serve you; and, at no time, did I transgress a command of yours; and you never gave me a kid, that I might make merry with my friends.
But, when your son—this one who devoured your living with harlots—came, you killed for him the fatted calf!'
