John 9:1-7

Williams(i) 1 As He passed along, He saw a man who had been blind from his birth. 2 So His disciples asked Him, "Teacher, for whose sin was this man born blind, his own or that of his parents?" 3 Jesus answered, "It was neither for his own sin nor for that of his parents, but to show what God could do in his case. 4 We must continue to do the works of Him who sent me while it is daylight. Night is coming when no one can do any work. 5 While I am in the world, I am the light of the world." 6 On saying this He spit on the ground and made clay with the saliva, and put it on the man's eyes, 7 and said, "Go and wash them in the pool of Siloam" (which means One who has been sent). So he went and washed them and went home seeing.
