Psalms 78:2-9

VIN(i) 2 I will open my mouth in parables. I will utter dark sayings of old, 3 That we have heard and known and our fathers have told us. 4 We will not hide them from their children, telling the next generation the praises of the LORD, and his power and his wonders that he has done. 5 He established a decree in Jacob, and established the Law in Israel, that he commanded our ancestors to reveal to their children 6 so that the next generation might know— children yet to be born— that they might rise up and tell their children, 7 that they might set their hope in God, and not forget God's deeds, but keep his commandments, 8 They should not be like their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious generation, a generation that did not prepare its heart and whose spirit was not faithful to God. 9 The sons of Ephraim, armed with archers, turned back on the day of battle.
