So they asked Him, “What sign then will You perform, so that we may see it and believe You? What will You do?
Our fathers ate the manna in the desert as it is written, 'He gave them bread from heaven to eat.' "
Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I tell you, it was not Moses who gave you the bread from heaven, but it is My Father who gives you the true bread from heaven.
For the bread of God is he who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world."
"Sir," they said, "always give us that bread."
Jesus said, "I am the bread of life; he who comes to me will never be hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty again.
But as I told you, you have seen Me and still you do not believe.
All that the Father gives me will come to me, and him who comes to me I will not cast away;
For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but to do the will of Him who sent Me.
And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that I shall lose none of those He has given Me, but raise them up at the last day.
For it is My Father’s will that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in Him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.”
Now the Jews began to grumble about him because he said, "I am the bread that came down from heaven,"
And they said: Is this not Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How does he now say, I came down out of Heaven?
“Stop grumbling among yourselves,” Jesus replied.
No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day.
It is written in the Prophets: ‘And they will all be taught by God.’ Everyone who has heard the Father and learned from Him comes to Me—
not that anyone has seen the Father except the One who is from God; only He has seen the Father.
Truly, truly, I tell you, he who believes has everlasting life.
I am the bread of life.
Your forefathers ate the manna in the Desert, and they died.
Here is the bread that comes down out of Heaven that a man may eat it and not die.
I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. And this bread, which I will give for the life of the world, is My flesh.”
Then the Jews began to argue among themselves, saying, "How can this man give us his flesh to eat?"
Then Jesus said to them, I tell you most truly, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood, you have no life in you.
Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.
for my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink.
Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood remains in Me, and I in him.
Just as the living Father sent me and I live because of the Father, so also the one who feeds on me will live because of me.
This is the bread which came down from heaven: not as the fathers ate manna, and died: he who eats this bread shall live forever.
