Yes I tell you, and something more than a prophet; ¹⁰ for this is he of whom it is written, "Behold I send my messenger before thy face, who shall prepare thy way before thee." ¹¹ Verily I say to you, among them who are born of women, there hath not arisen a greater than John the baptist: but the least in the kingdom of heaven is a greater than he. ¹² Now ever since the days of John the baptist, the kingdom of the heavens is invaded and invaders are forcibly taking possession of it. ¹³ For till the appearance of John, all the prophets and the law were the public instructors.
