8 But what went ye out to see? A man clothed with soft raiment? Behold they, who wear delicate apparel, frequent the palaces of kings.
9 But what went ye out to see? a prophet? Yes I tell you, and something more than a prophet;
10 for this is he of whom it is written, "Behold I send my messenger before thy face, who shall prepare thy way before thee."
11 Verily I say to you, among them who are born of women, there hath not arisen a greater than John the baptist: but the least in the kingdom of heaven is a greater than he.
12 Now ever since the days of John the baptist, the kingdom of the heavens is invaded and invaders are forcibly taking possession of it.
13 For till the appearance of John, all the prophets and the law were the public instructors.
