Thomson⁽ⁱ⁾ ¹ What was from the beginning; what we have heard; what we have seen with our eyes; what we have viewed attentively, and our hands have handled [with respect also to the word of the life ² even the life was manifested, and we have seen, and testify, and announce to you, that eternal life which was with the Father, and hath been clearly manifested to us] ³ that which we have seen and heard, we announce to you, that you also may have communion with us. Now this communion of ours is with the Father, and with his son Jesus Christ.
