3 David also smote Adraazar king of Suba Emath. As he was going to establish his dominion over the river Euphrates;
4 David intercepted a thousand of his chariots and seven thousand cavalry, and twenty thousand infantry. And David destroyed all the chariots, reserving only a hundred of them.
5 And when the Syrians of Damascus came to assist Adraazar king of Suba, David smote of the Syrians twenty two thousand men.
6 And David garrisoned that part of Syria which belonged to Damascus, and the inhabitants became David's vassals, and brought him gifts. And the Lord preserved David wherever he went.
7 And David took the chains of gold which were on the servants of Adraazar, and brought them to Jerusalem.
8 And from Matabeth and from the chief cities which belonged to Adraazar, David took brass in great abundance, of which Solomon made the brasen sea and the pillars and the vessels of brass.
9 Now when Thoa king of Emath, heard that David had smitten all the army of Adraazar king of Suba,
