John 20:19-26

Sawyer(i) 19 (22:3) Then when it was evening, on that first day of the week, and the doors were shut where the disciples were for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the midst, and said to them, Peace be to you. 20 And having said this he showed them both his hands and his side; then the disciples rejoiced when they saw the Lord. 21 Then he said to them again, Peace be to you; as the Father has sent me, I also send you. 22 And having said this he breathed on them, and said to them, Receive the Holy Spirit. 23 Those whose sins you forgive, are forgiven; and whose you retain, are retained. 24 (22:4) But Thomas, one of the twelve, called the Twin, was not with them when Jesus came. 25 Then the other disciples said to him, We have seen the Lord; but he said to them, Unless I see in his hands the impression of the nails, and put my finger in the impression of the nails, and put my hand in his side, I will not believe. 26 And after eight days his disciples were again within, and Thomas with them. Jesus came, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be to you.
