Do you not perceive, that whatever enters into the man from without, it cannot defile him; ¹⁹ Because it does not enter into his heart, but into the belly, and is eliminated? Thus he declared all foods clean. ²⁰ And he said, That which comes out of the man, that defiles the man. ²¹ For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, ²² Covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lustfulness, envy, slander, pride, foolishness: ²³ All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.
