Luke 16:1-13

RKJNT(i) 1 And he also said to his disciples, There was a certain rich man, who had a steward, and charges were brought to him that the steward was wasting his goods. 2 And he called him, and said to him, What is this that I hear of you? give an account of your stewardship; for you may no longer be steward. 3 Then the steward said to himself, What shall I do? for my lord is taking away my stewardship: I am not strong enough to dig; and I am ashamed to beg. 4 I know what to do, so that when I am put out of the stewardship, people will receive me into their houses. 5 So he called in every one of his lord's debtors, and said to the first, How much do you owe to my lord? 6 And he said, A hundred measures of oil. And he said to him, Take your bill, and sit down quickly, and write fifty. 7 Then he said to another, And how much do you owe? And he said, A hundred measures of wheat. And he said to him, Take your bill, and write eighty. 8 And the lord commended the dishonest steward, because he had acted shrewdly: for the children of this world are more shrewd in dealing with own kind than are the children of light. 9 And I say to you, Make friends for yourselves using worldly wealth; that, when it fails, they may receive you into the eternal habitations. 10 He who is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he who is dishonest in the least is also dishonest in much. 11 Therefore, if you have not been faithful with worldly wealth, who will entrust you with true riches? 12 And if you have not been faithful with that which is another man's, who shall give you possessions of your own? 13 No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.
