RKJNT(i)
Then the chief priests and the Pharisees gathered a council, and said, What should we do? for this man performs many miraculous signs .
If we let him go on like this, all men will believe in him: and the Romans shall come and take away both our place and our nation.
And one of them, named Caiaphas, who was the high priest that year, said to them, You know nothing at all,
Nor do you consider that it is expedient for you, that one man should die for the people, so that the whole nation should not perish.
And this he did not speak of his own accord: but being high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus should die for the nation;
And not for that nation only, but also that he should gather together into one the children of God who are scattered abroad.
Then from that day forth they planned together how to put him to death.
