It is Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.« ⁴⁶ And Nathanael said to him: »Could any good thing come out of Nazareth?« Philip said: »Come and see.« ⁴⁷ Jesus saw Nathanael coming to him. He said: »Look an Israelite indeed. There is no deceit in him!« ⁴⁸ Nathanael asked: »How do you know me?« Jesus answered: »I saw you under the fig tree before Philip called you.« ⁴⁹ Nathanael answered: »Rabbi you are the Son of God. You are King of Israel.« ⁵⁰ Jesus responded: »I told you I saw you under the fig tree. Is this why you believe? You will see greater things than these.« ⁵¹ Jesus continued: »You will see the heavens opened and you will see the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of man.« ² ¹ There was a marriage in Cana of Galilee on the third day. The mother of Jesus was there.
