And I looked, and lo, a black horse; and he that sat thereon, had a balance in his hand. ⁶ And I heard a voice in the midst of the four Animals, saying: A choenix of wheat for a denarius, and three choenices of barley for a denarius; and hurt not the oil and the wine. ⁷ And when he had opened the fourth seal, I heard the fourth Animal say, Come, and see. ⁸ And I looked, and lo, a pale horse; and the name of him who sat thereon was Death; and Hades followed after him. And there was given him authority over the fourth part of the earth, to slay with the sword, and by famine, and by death, and by the ravenous beast of the earth.
