Murdock⁽ⁱ⁾ ⁵ Jesus answered and said to them: On account of the hardness of your heart, Moses wrote you this precept. ⁶ But, from the beginning, God made them a male and a female. ⁷ Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and adhere to his wife: ⁸ and they two shall be one flesh. Wherefore they are not two, but one flesh. ⁹ What therefore God hath conjoined, let not man separate. ¹⁰ And in the house, the disciples asked him again of this matter. ¹¹ And he said to them: Whoever shall divorce his wife, and take another, committeth adultery. ¹² And if a woman shall leave her husband, and marry another, she committeth adultery.
