Lamsa⁽ⁱ⁾ ⁵ Jesus answered and said to them, It was because of the hardness of your heart, that he wrote for you this particular law. ⁶ But from the very beginning God made them male and female. ⁷ For this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother and follow his wife. ⁸ And both shall be one flesh; henceforth they are not two, but one flesh. ⁹ What therefore God has joined, let no man separate. ¹⁰ And his disciples again asked him about this in the house. ¹¹ And he said to them, Whoever divorces his wife and marries another, commits adultery. ¹² And if a woman divorces her husband, and marries another, she commits adultery.
