And he said to them: Understand ye what I have done to you? ¹³ Ye call me, Our Rabbi, and Our Lord; and ye speak well; for I am so. ¹⁴ If then I, your Lord and your Rabbi, have washed your feet, how much more ought ye to wash the feet of one another? ¹⁵ For I have given you this example, that ye might do, as I have done to you. ¹⁶ Verily, verily, I say to you, That no servant is greater than his lord; and no legate is greater than he who sent him. ¹⁷ If ye know these things, happy will ye be if ye do them.
