Numbers 10

Matthew(i) 1 And the Lorde spake vnto Moses saying: 2 Make the two trompettes of beaten syluer, that thou mayst vse them to call the congregacion together, & when the hoste shal iourney. 3 When they blowe wt them, al the multitude shal resorte to the, vnto the dore of the tabernacle of wytnesse. 4 If but one trumpet blowe onlye, then the princes which are heades ouer the thousandes of Israel shal come vnto the. 5 And when ye trompe the fyrst tyme, the hostes that lye on the east partes shal go forward. 6 And when ye trompe the seconde tyme, then the hostes that lye on the south syde shal take their iourney: for they shal trompe when they take their iourneyes. 7 And in getheryng the congregacion together, ye shall blowe and not trompe. 8 And the sonnes of Aaron the preastes shal blowe the trompettes & shal haue them and it shalbe a lawe vnto you for euer and amonge youre chyldren after you. 9 And when ye shall go to warre in youre lande agaynst your enemyes that wexe you, ye shall trompe with the trompettes and ye shalbe remembred before the Lord your God and saued from youre enemyes. 10 Also when ye be mery in your feast dayes and in the fyrst dayes of your monethes, ye shall blowe the trompettes ouer your burnt sacryfyces and peaceofferynges, that it maye be a remembraunce of you before your GOD. I am the Lord youre God. 11 And it came to passe the .xx. daye of the seconde moneth in the seconde yere, that the cloude was take vp from of the habitacion of witnesse. 12 And the chyldren of Israel toke their iourney out of the deserte of Sinai, and the cloude rested in the wyldernesse of Pharan. 13 And they fyrst toke their iourney at the mouth of the Lord, by the hand of Moses: 14 euen the standerte of the hoste of Iuda remoued first with their armyes whose captayne was Nahason the sonne of Aminadab. 15 And ouer the hoste of the trybe of the chyldren of Isachar was Nathanael the sonne of Zuar. 16 And ouer the hoste of the trybe of the chyldren of Zabulon, was Eliab the sonne of Helon. 17 And the habitacion was taken doune: and the sonnes of Gerson and Merari went forth bearinge the habitacion. 18 Then the standert of the hoste of Ruben went forth wyth theyr armyes, whose captayne Elizur the sonne of Sedeur. 19 And ouer the host of the trybe of the chyldren of Simeon, was Salamiel the sonne of Surisaddai. 20 And ouer the hoste of the trybe of the chyldren of Gad was Eliasoph the sonne of Deguel. 21 Then the Cahathites went forward and bare the holy thynges, and the other dyd set vp the habitacion agaynst they came. 22 Then the standert of the hoste of the chyldren of Ephraim went forth wt their armies whose captayne was Elisama the sonne of Amiud. 23 And ouer the hoste of the trybe of the sonnes of Manasse, was Gamaliel the sonne of Pedazur. 24 And ouer the hoste of the trybe of the sonnes of Beniamin, was Abidan the sonne of Gedeoni. 25 And hyndmost of al the hoste came the standert of the hoste of the chyldren of Dan wyth theyr armyes: whose captayne was, Ahiezer the sonne of Ammi Saddai. 26 And ouer the hoste of the trybe of the chyldren of Aser, was Pagiell the sonne of Ochran. 27 And ouer the hoste of the trybe of the chyldren of Nephthali, was Ahira the sonne of Enan, 28 of thys maner were the iourneies of the children of Israel, with theyr armyes when they remoued. 29 And Moses said vnto Hobab the sonne of Raguell the Madianyte, Moses father in lawe: we goo vnto the place of whych the Lord sayd I wyll geue it you. Go with vs & we wyl doo the good, for the Lord hath promysed good vnto Israell. 30 And he sayd vnto hym: I wyl not: but wyll go to myne awne land and to my kynred. 31 And Moses sayd oh nay, leaue vs not, for thou knowest where is best for vs to pitch in the wildernesse: & thou shalt be oure eyes. 32 And yf thou go with vs, loke what goodnesse the Lord sheweth vpon vs, the same we wyl shewe vpon the. 33 And they departed from the mounte of the Lord .iij. dayes iourney, and the arcke of the testament of the Lorde went before them in the .iij. dayes iourney to serche out a resting place for them. 34 And the cloude of the Lorde was ouer them by day, when they went out of the tentes. 35 And when the arcke went forth, Moses sayde: Ryse vp Lorde and let thyne enemies be scatered, and let them that hate the flee before the. 36 And when the arcke rested, he sayde retourne Lorde vnto the many thousandes of Israell.
