39 therefore they could not believe, according to what Esaias said in another place, "he hath blinded their eyes,
40 and hardned their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them."
41 these things said Esaias, when he saw his glory, and spake of him.
42 nevertheless there were many even among the chief rulers, who believed on him; but they did not own it publickly for fear the Pharisees should excommunicate them.
43 for they preferr'd their own reputation to the glory of God.
