MSTC⁽ⁱ⁾ ¹¹ When they were gone, Behold, some of the keepers came in to the city, and showed unto the high priests all the things that were happened. ¹² And they gathered them together with the elders, and took counsel, and gave large money unto the soldiers, ¹³ saying, "Say that his disciples came by night, and stole him away while ye slept." ¹⁴ And if this come to the ruler's ears, we will appease him, and save you harmless. ¹⁵ And they took the money, and did as they were taught. And this saying is noised among the Jews unto this day.
