And Paul, as his manner was, went in unto them: and three Sabbath days declared out of the scripture unto them,
opening and alleging that Christ must needs have suffered and risen again from death. And that this Jesus was Christ, whom, said he, "I preach to you."
And some of them believed and came and companied with Paul and Silas. Also of the honorable Greeks, a great multitude; and of the chief women, not a few.
But the Jews which believed not, having indignation, took unto them evil men which were vagabonds, and gathered a company, and set all the city on a roar, and made assault unto the house of Jason, and sought to bring them out to the people.
But when they found them not, they drew Jason and certain brethren unto the heads of the city crying, "These that trouble the world are come hither also,
which Jason hath received privily. And these all do contrary to the elders of Caesar, affirming another King: one Jesus."
And they troubled the people and the officers of the city when they heard these things.
And when they were sufficiently answered of Jason, and of the others they let them go.
