But, I did not know sin, except through the law; for I also did not know coveting. ⁸ But sin, having taken a starting-point, worked in me through the commandment all manner of coveting; for separate from the law sin is dead. ⁹ But I was previously living separate from the law, but when the commandment came, sin lived again through me and I died; ¹⁰ and the commandment which was to life, it was found in me to be to death; ¹¹ for sin, having taken a starting-point through the commandment, deceived me and through it killed me. ¹² So-that the law indeed is holy and the commandment holy and righteous and good.
