41 You are practicing the works of your father.
Therefore they said to him, We have not been born from fornication; we have one Father–God.
42 Therefore Jesus said to them, If God was your Father, you would love me; for I came out and have come from God; for neither have I come from myself, but from that one who sent me. 43 Why do you not know my speech? Is it because you are not able to hear my word? 44 You are from your father, the devil, and you to do the lusts of your father. That one was a murderer from the beginning and is not standing in the truth, because there is no truth in him. Whenever he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own things, because he is a liar and the father of it. 45 But because I speak the truth, you do not believe me. 46 Which out of you convicts me concerning sin? But if I speak the truth, why are you not believing in me? 47 He who is from God hears the declarations of God, but because of this, you do not hear them, because you are not from God.
48 Therefore the Jews answered and said to him, Do we not say well that you are a Samaritan and you have a demon?
