39 They answered and said to him, Our father is Abraham.
Jesus says to them, If you were Abraham’s children, were you ever practicing the works of Abraham? 40 But now you are seeking to kill me, a man who has spoken the truth to you, which I heard from God. Abraham did not ever do this. 41 You are practicing the works of your father.
Therefore they said to him, We have not been born from fornication; we have one Father–God.
