MLV(i)
For we who have believed are entering into that rest; just-as he has said, ‘ As I swore in my wrath, they will not be entering into my rest,’although the works have happened from the conception of the world.
For he has thus spoken somewhere concerning the seventh day, ‘And God rested on the seventh day from all his works’;
and again in this one, ‘They will not be entering into my rest.’
Therefore, since it is left for some to enter into it, and those to whom the good-news was proclaimed beforehand did not enter into it because of disobedience,
he again determines a certain day as today, saying in David, after so-much time, (just-as it has been said beforehand), ‘Today if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts.’
For if Joshua had given-rest to them, he would have not been speaking concerning another day after these things.
Consequently, a Sabbath-rest is left for the people of God.
For the one who entered into his rest has also rested from his works, just-as God did from his own.
Therefore let us be diligent to enter into that rest, in order that no one should fall into the same example of disobedience.
