MLV(i)
that you were separate from Christ at the time, having been alienated from the citizenship of Israel and strangers from the covenants of the promise, having no hope and were godless in the world.
But now in Christ Jesus you who were previously from afar have become near to him in the blood of the Christ.
For he is our peace, who made us both one and tore-down the middle wall of the fence,
having done-away-with the hostility in his flesh, which is the Law of commandments in decrees; in order that he might create in himself the two into one new man, thus making peace;
and might reconcile them both in one body to God through the cross, having killed the hostility in himself.
And when he came, he proclaimed the good-news of peace to you who were from afar and peace to those who were near;
because through him we both have our access in one Spirit to the Father.
Therefore consequently, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but you are fellow citizens of the holy-ones and members of the household of God,
having been built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets. Jesus Christ himself being the cornerstone;
in whom all the building, fitly framed together, is growing into a holy temple in the Lord;
in whom you are also built together into a residence of God in the Spirit.
