2 Chronicles 6:5-6

LITV^{(i) 5} From the day that I brought My people out of the land of Egypt, I have not chosen a city out of any of the tribes of Israel to build a house for My name to be there, and I have not chosen a man to be leader over My people Israel. ⁶ But I have chosen Jerusalem for My name to be there, and I have chosen David to be over My people Israel.
