Matthew 12:1-8

JuliaSmith(i) 1 In that time Jesus went in the sabbaths through the standing corn and his disciples were hungry, and begen to pluck the ears, end eat. 2 And the Pharisees, seeing, said to him, Behold, thy disciples do what is not lawful to do in the sabbath. 3 And he said to them, Have ye not read what David did, when he was hungry, and they with him; 4 How he went into the house of God, and ate the loaves of setting up, which was not lawful for him to eat, nor those with him, but for the priests alone? 5 Or have ye not read in the law, that in the sabbaths, the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are innocent? 6 But I say to you, That he here is greater than the temple. 7 And if ye knew what it is, I will mercy, and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the innocent. 8 For the Lord of the sabbath is also the Son of man.
