25 And she hurried back at once to the king and asked him for it, saying, "I want you right away to give me John the Baptist's head on a platter."
26 The king was exceedingly sorry, but on account of his oath and his guests he did not like to break his word to her,
27 and he immediately sent one of his guard with orders to get John's head.
28 And he went off and beheaded him in the prison and brought back his head on a platter and gave it to the girl, and the girl gave it to her mother.
