10 Hear, O my son, and take my sayings; and abound the years of your life:
11 I teach you in the way of wisdom; I aim you in routes of straightness:
12 so that as you walk, your paces constrain not; and as you run, you stumble not.
13 Uphold discipline; let not go: guard her; for she is your life:
14 neither enter the path of the wicked nor blithe in the way of evil.
15 Avoid, pass not in; deviate therefrom, and pass on:
16 for they sleep not unless they vilify; and they strip their sleep until they trip some:
17 for they eat the bread of wickedness and drink the wine of violence.
