and Hanani, one of my brothers, comes - he and men of Yah Hudah; and I ask them concerning the Yah Hudiym who escaped - who survived of the captivity and concerning Yeru Shalem.
And they say to me, The survivors who survived the captivity there in the jurisdiction are in great evil and reproach: and the wall of Yeru Shalem is broken down and the portals thereof are burned with fire.
And so be it, I hear these words, and I settle and weep and mourn for days and fast and pray at the face of Elohim of the heavens;
and say, I beseech you, O Yah Veh Elohim of the heavens - the great and awesome El who guards covenant and mercy for them who love him and guard his misvoth:
hearken your ear, I pray, and open your eyes to hear the prayer of your servant which I pray at your face this day - by day and by night for the sons of Yisra El your servants; and spread hands for the sins of the sons of Yisra El we sinned against you - both I and the house of my father sinned.
In despoiling, we despoiled against you; and guarded neither the misvoth nor the statutes nor the judgments you misvahed your servant Mosheh.
