YISRA EL REBELS AGAINST RECHAB AM
And Rechab Am goes to Shechem: for all Yisra El comes to Shechem to have him reign. 2 And so be it, Yarob Am the son of Nebat, who is yet in Misrayim, hears, - for he had fled the face of sovereign Shelomoh and Yarob Am settles in Misrayim; 3 and they send and call him. And Yarob Am and all the congregation of Yisra El come and word to Rechab Am, saying, 4 Your father hardened our yoke: now swiften the service of your father and the heavy yoke he gave on us and we serve you. 5 And he says to them, Go yet three days and return to me. And the people go: 6 and sovereign Rechab Am counsels with the elders who had stood at the face of Shelomoh his father while he yet lived, saying, How counsel you, that I return word to this people? 7 And they word to him, saying, If you are a servant to this people this day and serve them and answer them and word good words to them, then they become your servants all days. 8 And he forsakes the counsel the elders counsel him; and counsels with the children who grew up with him - who stand at his face: 9 and he says to them, What counsel give you that we return word to this people, who word to me, saying, Swiften the yoke your father gave on us? 10 And the children who grew up with him word to him, saying, Say thus to this people who word to you, saying, Your father made our yoke heavy, but swiften it to us - word to them thus, My pinky is thicker than the loins of my father! 11 And now, whereas my father loaded you with a heavy yoke, I add to your yoke: my father disciplined you with whips; and I - I discipline you with scorpions. 12 So Yarob Am and all the people come to Rechab Am the third day as the sovereign worded, saying, Return to me the third day: 13 and the sovereign answers the people hard and forsakes the counsel the elders counsel him; 14 and words to them after the counsel of the children, saying, My father made your yoke heavy and I - I add to your yoke: my father disciplined you with whips, and I - I discipline you with scorpions. 15 And the sovereign hearkens not to the people; for the revolution is from Yah Veh to raise his word which Yah Veh worded by the hand of Achiy Yah the Shilohiy to Yarob Am the son of Nebat. 16
THE SOVEREIGNDOM DIVIDED
And all Yisra El sees that the sovereign hearkens not to them, and the people return word to the sovereign, saying, What allotment have we in David? Yes, there is no inheritance in the son of Yishay: to your tents, O Yisra El! Now see to your own house, O David. - and Yisra El goes to their tents. 17 As for the sons of Yisra El who settle in the cities of Yah Hudah, Rechab Am reigns over them: 18 and sovereign Rechab Am sends Adoni Ram who is over the vassal; and all Yisra El stones him with stones, that he dies: and sovereign Rechab Am strengthens himself to ascend to his chariot to flee to Yeru Shalem. 19 and Yisra El rebels against the house of David to this day. 20 And so be it, all Yisra El hears that Yarob Am returns, and they send and call him to the witness and have him reign over all Yisra El: there is no one after the house of David, except only, the scion of Yah Hudah. 21 And Rechab Am comes to Yeru Shalem, and he congregates all the house of Yah Hudah with the scion of Ben Yamin - a hundred and eighty thousand chosen men who work war - to fight against the house of Yisra El - to return the sovereigndom to Rechab Am the son of Shelomoh. 22 And the word of Elohim is to Shema Yah the man of Elohim, saying, 23 Say to Rechab Am the son of Shelomoh sovereign of Yah Hudah, and to all the house of Yah Hudah and Ben Yamin and to the remnant of the people, saying, 24 Thus says Yah Veh: Neither ascend nor fight against your brothers the sons of Yisra El: return every man to his house; for this word is from me. - and they hear the word of Yah Veh and return to go according to the word of Yah Veh. 25
THE ALTAR OF SACRIFICE OF YAROB AM
And Yarob Am builds Shechem in mount Ephrayim and settles therein; and from there, he goes out and builds Penu El: 26 and Yarob Am says in his heart, Now the sovereigndom returns to the house of David: 27 if this people ascend to work sacrifice in the house of Yah Veh at Yeru Shalem, then the heart of this people returns to their adoni - to Rechab Am sovereign of Yah Hudah; and they slaughter me and return to Rechab Am sovereign of Yah Hudah. 28 And the sovereign takes counsel and works two calves of gold, and says to them, Too much for you to ascend to Yeru Shalem: behold your Elohim, O Yisra El, who ascended you from the land of Misrayim. 29 And he sets the one in Beth El and gives the one in Dan: 30 and this word becomes a sin: for the people go at the face of the one, to Dan. 31 And he works a house of bamahs and works priests of the end of the people who are not of the sons of Levi: 32 and Yarob Am works a celebration in the eighth month, on the fifteenth day of the month, like the celebration in Yah Hudah: and he holocausts on the sacrifice altar: thus he works in Beth El sacrificing to the calves he worked: and in Beth El he stands the priests of the bamahs he worked: 33 and he holocausts on the sacrifice altar what he worked in Beth El the fifteenth day of the eighth month, in the month he contrives of his own heart; and works a celebration to the sons of Yisra El: and he holocausts on the sacrifice altar and incenses.
