John 1:15-23

CLV(i) 15 John is testifying concerning Him and has cried, saying, "This was He of Whom I said, 'He Who is coming after me, has come to be in front of me,' for He was first, before me, 16 for of that which fills Him we all obtained, and grace for grace." 17 For the law through Moses was given; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. 18 God no one has ever seen. The only-begotten God, Who is in the bosom of the Father, He unfolds Him." 19 And this is the testimony of John when the Jews of Jerusalem dispatch to him priests and Levites that they should be inquiring of him, "Who are you? 20 And he avows and denies not and avows that "I am not the Christ." 21 And they ask him again, "What are you then? Are you Elijah? And he is saying, "I am not." 22 Are you the Prophet? And he answered, "No.They said, then, to him, "Who are you? - that we may be giving an answer to those who send us. What are you saying concerning yourself? 23 He averred, "I am 'the voice of one imploring, "In the wilderness straighten the road of the Lord!"' according as said Isaiah the prophet."
