CLV⁽ⁱ⁾ ⁴⁹ Now a certain one of them, Caiaphas, being the chief priest of that year, said to them, "You are not aware of anything, ⁵⁰ neither are you reckoning that it is expedient for us that one man should be dying for the sake of the people and not the whole nation should perish." ⁵¹ Now this he said, not from himself, but, being the chief priest of that year, he prophesies that Jesus was about to be dying for the sake of the nation, ⁵² and not for the nation only, but that He may be gathering the scattered children of God also into one." ⁵³ From that day, then, they consult that they should kill Him."
