And Elijah the prophet, the Tishbite, of the inhabitants of Gilead, said to Ahab, As the Lord God of hosts, the God of Israel, lives, before whom I stand, there shall not be these years dew nor rain, except by the word of my mouth.
And the word of the Lord came to Elijah, saying,
Depart from here eastward, and hide yourself by the Brook of Cherith, that is before the Jordan.
And it shall be that you shall drink water of the brook, and I will command the ravens to feed you there.
And Elijah did according to the word of the Lord, and he sat by the Brook of Cherith before the Jordan.
And the ravens brought him loaves in the morning, and flesh in the evening, and he drank water out of the brook.
And it came to pass after some time, that the brook was dried up, because there had been no rain upon the earth.
