And Jesus, having seen their faith, says to the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven.”
And some of the scribes were sitting there and reasoning in their hearts,
“Why does this man speak thus? He blasphemes! Who is able to forgive sins, except God alone?”
And immediately Jesus, having known in His spirit that they are reasoning thus within themselves, says to them, “Why do you reason these things in your hearts?
Which is easier, to say to the paralytic, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Arise, and take up your mat, and walk’?
But that you might know that the Son of Man has authority to forgive sins on the earth...” He says to the paralytic,
“I say to you, arise, take up your mat, and go to your home.”
