BLB⁽ⁱ⁾ ⁵ They answered Him, “Jesus of Nazareth.” He says to them, “I am He.” Now Judas, who is delivering Him up, also had been standing with them. ⁶ Therefore when He said to them, “I am He,” they drew toward the back and fell to the ground. ⁷ Therefore He questioned them again, “Whom do you seek?” And they said, “Jesus of Nazareth.” ⁸ Jesus answered, “I have told you that I am He. Therefore if you seek Me, allow these to go away,” ⁹ so that the word that He had spoken might be fulfilled, “Those whom You have given Me, I have lost none of them, not one.” ¹⁰ Then Simon Peter, having a sword, drew it and struck the servant of the high priest and cut off his right ear. Now the servant’s name was Malchus. ¹¹ Therefore Jesus said to Peter, “Put the sword into the sheath. The cup which the Father has given Me, shall I not drink it?” ¹² Then the cohort and the commander and the officers of the Jews took hold of Jesus and bound Him.
