BLB⁽ⁱ⁾ ³ Share in suffering as a good soldier of Christ Jesus. ⁴ No one serving as a soldier entangles himself in the affairs of this life, that he might please the one having enlisted him. ⁵ Now also, if anyone competes, he is not crowned unless he shall have competed lawfully. ⁶ It is necessary for the hardworking farmer first to partake of the fruits. ⁷ Consider the things I am saying, for the Lord will give you understanding in all things. ⁸ Remember Jesus Christ, having been raised out from the dead, of the seed of David, according to my gospel, ⁹ in which I suffer hardship even to chains as an evildoer. But the word of God is not bound! ¹⁰ Because of this, I endure all things for the sake of the elect, so that they also may obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus, with eternal glory.
