3 μηδὲν (nothing) κατ’ (according to) ἐριθείαν (self-interest) μηδὲ (or) κατὰ (according to) κενοδοξίαν (vain conceit), ἀλλὰ (but) τῇ (-) ταπεινοφροσύνῃ (in humility) ἀλλήλους (one another) ἡγούμενοι (be esteeming) ὑπερέχοντας (surpassing) ἑαυτῶν (themselves),
4 μὴ (not) τὰ (the things) ἑαυτῶν (of themselves) ἕκαστοι (each) σκοποῦντες (considering), ἀλλὰ (but) καὶ (also) τὰ (the things) ἑτέρων (of others) ἕκαστοι (each).
5 Τοῦτο (This) φρονεῖτε (let mind be) ἐν (in) ὑμῖν (you) ὃ (which) καὶ (also) ἐν (in) Χριστῷ (Christ) Ἰησοῦ (Jesus was):
6 Ὃς (Who) ἐν (in) μορφῇ (the form) Θεοῦ (of God) ὑπάρχων (existing), οὐχ (not) ἁρπαγμὸν (something to be grasped) ἡγήσατο (considered) τὸ (-) εἶναι (to be) ἴσα (equal) Θεῷ (with God),
7 ἀλλὰ (but) ἑαυτὸν (Himself) ἐκένωσεν (emptied), μορφὴν (the form) δούλου (of a servant) λαβών (having taken), ἐν (in) ὁμοιώματι (the likeness) ἀνθρώπων (of men) γενόμενος (having been made).
8 καὶ (And) σχήματι (in appearance) εὑρεθεὶς (having been found) ὡς (as) ἄνθρωπος (a man), ἐταπείνωσεν (He humbled) ἑαυτὸν (Himself), γενόμενος (having become) ὑπήκοος (obedient) μέχρι (unto) θανάτου (death), θανάτου (the death) δὲ (even) σταυροῦ (of the cross).
