1. tumult, confusion Amos 3:9 (|| עֲשׁוּקִים oppression), disturbance, turmoil (opposed to peace) 2Chr 15:5 (|| verb המם v2Chr 15:6), compare Ezek 22:5 disquietude (of mind) Prov 15:16 especially tumult & confusion, panic, as due to divine judgment ׳מְהוּמַתיֿ Zech 14:13 compare Ezek 7:7 also 1Sam 5:9 and מְהוּמַת מָוֶת v1Sam 5:11.
