II. יוֺנָה proper name, masculine prophet, according to 2Kgs 14:25 he was הַנָּבִיא son of אֲמִתַּי, from גַּת הַחֵפֶר and predicted the recovery of Israel's territory which Jeroboam II effected; he is also the principal figure of the Book of Jonah: 2Kgs 1:1 (בֶּןאֲֿמִתַּי), v2Kgs 1:3 v2Kgs 1:5 v2Kgs 1:7 v2Kgs 1:15; 2Kgs 2:1 (twice in verse); 2Kgs 2:2; 2Kgs 2:11; 2Kgs 3:1; 2Kgs 3:3; 2Kgs 3:4; 2Kgs 4:1; 2Kgs 4:5; 2Kgs 4:6 (twice in verse); 2Kgs 4:8; 2Kgs 4:9.
