¹ Furthermore, we urge you, brethren, and exhort you in the Lord Jesus, that as you have learned from us how you ought to walk and to please God, as indeed you are doing, so you would do more and more.

² Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away: and every branch that bears fruit, he prunes it, that it may bring forth more fruit.

²⁷ For I have not hesitated to declare to you all the counsel of God.

⁸ So then those who are in the flesh cannot please God.

¹ Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service of worship. ² And do not be conformed to this world: but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good, and acceptable, and perfect.

²³ For I have received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you, That the Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread:

¹ Now, brethren, I would remind you of the gospel which I preached to you, which you have received, and in which you stand;

⁵⁸ Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

⁹ Therefore we labour, that whether at home or absent, we may please him.

¹ We then, as workers together with him, urge you not to receive the grace of God in vain.

¹ Now I, Paul, urge you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ, I who am meek in your presence, but bold when I am absent from you.

¹¹ Finally, brethren, farewell. Aim to be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you.

¹ Therefore I, a prisoner of the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called,

²⁰ But you did not learn Christ that way;

¹⁷ Therefore, do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is.

⁹ And this I pray, that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and in all discernment;

²⁷ Only conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or am absent, I may hear of you, that you are standing fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;

¹⁴ I press on toward the goal for the prize, to which God has called me upward in Christ Jesus.

¹⁰ That you might walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please him in all things, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;

⁶ Therefore, as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him:

¹¹ Just as you know how we exhorted and comforted and implored every one of you, as a father does his children, ¹² That you would walk in a manner worthy of God, who has called you into his kingdom and glory.

¹² And may the Lord make you to increase and abound in love toward one another, and toward all men, even as we do toward you:

² For you know what commandments we gave you by the authority of the Lord Jesus.

¹⁰ And indeed you do love all the brethren who are in all Macedonia: but we urge you, brethren, that you do so more and more; ¹¹ And that you aspire to live quietly, and to mind your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you; ¹² That you may behave properly toward those who are outside, and that you may lack nothing.

³ We ought always to thank God for you, brethren, as is fitting, because your faith grows abundantly, and the love of every one of you for each other grows greater;

¹ Now, regarding the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and our being gathered to him, we ask you, brethren,

¹ Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may spread rapidly, and be glorified, even as it did with you:

¹⁰ For even when we were with you, we gave you this command: if any will not work, neither shall he eat. ¹¹ For we hear that there are some among you who walk in idleness, not working at all, mere busybodies. ¹² Now those who are such we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that they work quietly, and eat their own bread.

²¹ I solemnly charge you before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, and the chosen angels, that you observe these things without favouring one over another, doing nothing with partiality.

¹³ I charge you in the sight of God, who gives life to all things, and of Christ Jesus, who in his testimony before Pontius Pilate made the good confession; ¹⁴ That you keep the commandment without spot, free of reproach, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ:

¹ I solemnly charge you before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his kingdom;

⁹ Yet for love's sake I prefer to appeal to you, I, Paul, the aged, and now also a prisoner of Jesus Christ. ¹⁰ I appeal to you for my son Onesimus, whom I have begotten while in these bonds:

⁶ But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he who comes to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him.

¹⁶ Do not forget to do good and to share: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.

²² And I urge you, brethren, bear with this word of exhortation: for I have written to you a letter of few words.

⁵ For this very reason, give all diligence to add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; ⁶ And to knowledge self-control; and to self-control perseverance; and to perseverance godliness; ⁷ And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness love. ⁸ For if these things are in you, and are increasing, they keep you from being either ineffective or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. ⁹ But he who lacks these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and has forgotten that he was purged from his old sins. ¹⁰ Therefore, brethren, be all the more diligent to make your calling and election sure: for if you do these things, you shall never fall:

¹⁸ But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever. Amen.

²² And whatever we ask, we receive from him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.
