¹ Peter, apostle of Jesus Christ, to [the] sojourners of [the] dispersion of Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia,

³³ And I will scatter you among the nations, and will draw out the sword after you; and your land shall be desolation, and your cities waste.

²⁷ And Jehovah will scatter you among the peoples, and ye shall be left a small company among the nations to which Jehovah will lead you.

⁶⁴ And Jehovah will scatter thee among all peoples, from one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth; and thou shalt there serve other gods, whom thou hast not known, neither thou nor thy fathers, wood and stone.

²⁶ I would say, I will scatter, I will make the remembrance of them to cease from among men,

⁸ And Haman said to king Ahasuerus, There is a people scattered abroad and dispersed among the peoples in all the provinces of thy kingdom; and their laws are diverse from [those of] every people, and they keep not the king`s laws; and it is not for the king`s profit to suffer them.

¹¹ Thou hast given us over like sheep [appointed] for meat, and hast scattered us among the nations;

⁸ Yet will I leave a remnant, in that ye shall have some escaped from the sword among the nations, when ye shall be scattered through the countries.

¹⁸ And walking by the sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea, for they were fishers;

² Now the names of the twelve apostles are these: first, Simon, who was called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the [son] of Zebedee, and John his brother;

²² and if those days had not been cut short, no flesh had been saved; but on account of the elect those days shall be cut short.

⁴¹ He first finds his own brother Simon, and says to him, We have found the Messias (which being interpreted is Christ). ⁴² And he led him to Jesus. Jesus looking at him said, Thou art Simon, the son of Jonas; thou shalt be called Cephas (which interpreted is stone).

³⁵ The Jews therefore said to one another, Where is he about to go that we shall not find him? Is he about to go to the dispersion among the Greeks, and teach the Greeks?

⁵² and not for the nation only, but that he should also gather together into one the children of God who were scattered abroad.

¹⁵ When therefore they had dined, Jesus says to Simon Peter, Simon, [son] of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He says to him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I am attached to thee. He says to him, Feed my lambs. ¹⁶ He says to him again a second time, Simon, [son] of Jonas, lovest thou me? He says to him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I am attached to thee. He says to him, Shepherd my sheep. ¹⁷ He says to him the third time, Simon, [son] of Jonas, art thou attached to me? Peter was grieved because he said to him the third time, Art thou attached to me? and said to him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I am attached to thee. Jesus says to him, Feed my sheep.

⁵ Now there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, pious men, from every nation of those under heaven. ⁶ But the rumour of this having spread, the multitude came together and were confounded, because each one heard them speaking in his own dialect. ⁷ And all were amazed and wondered, saying, Behold, are not all these who are speaking Galilaeans? ⁸ and how do *we* hear [them] each in our own dialect in which we have been born, ⁹ Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and those who inhabit Mesopotamia, and Judaea, and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, ¹⁰ both Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt, and the parts of Libya which adjoin Cyrene, and the Romans sojourning [here], both Jews and proselytes, ¹¹ Cretans and Arabians, we hear them speaking in our own tongues the great things of God?

⁹ And there arose up certain of those of the synagogue called of freedmen, and of Cyrenians, and of Alexandrians, and of those of Cilicia and Asia, disputing with Stephen.

⁴ Those then that had been scattered went through [the countries] announcing the glad tidings of the word.

⁶ And having passed through Phrygia and the Galatian country, having been forbidden by the Holy Spirit to speak the word in Asia, ⁷ having come down to Mysia, they attempted to go to Bithynia, and the Spirit of Jesus did not allow them;

² and finding a certain Jew by name Aquila, of Pontus by race, just come from Italy, and Priscilla his wife, (because Claudius had ordered all the Jews to leave Rome,) came to them,

²³ And having stayed [there] some time, he went forth, passing in order through the country of Galatia and Phrygia, establishing all the disciples.

¹⁰ And this took place for two years, so that all that inhabited Asia heard the word of the Lord, both Jews and Greeks.

¹⁶ for Paul thought it desirable to sail by Ephesus, so that he might not be made to spend time in Asia; for he hastened, if it was possible for him, to be the day of Pentecost at Jerusalem. ¹⁷ But from Miletus having sent to Ephesus, he called over [to him] the elders of the assembly. ¹⁸ And when they were come to him, he said to them, *Ye* know how I was with you all the time from the first day that I arrived in Asia,

¹⁹ The assemblies of Asia salute you. Aquila and Priscilla, with the assembly in their house, salute you much in [the] Lord.

⁸ For we do not wish you to be ignorant, brethren, as to our tribulation which happened [to us] in Asia, that we were excessively pressed beyond [our] power, so as to despair even of living.

² and all the brethren with me, to the assemblies of Galatia.

¹² that ye were at that time without Christ, aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:

¹⁹ So then ye are no longer strangers and foreigners, but ye are fellow-citizens of the saints, and of the household of God,

¹⁵ Thou knowest this, that all who [are] in Asia, of whom is Phygellus and Hermogenes, have turned away from me.

¹³ All these died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them from afar off and embraced [them], and confessed that they were strangers and sojourners on the earth.

¹ James, bondman of God and of [the] Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which [are] in the dispersion, greeting.

¹¹ Beloved, I exhort [you], as strangers and sojourners, to abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;

¹ Simon Peter, bondman and apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have received like precious faith with us through [the] righteousness of our God and Saviour Jesus Christ:

¹¹ saying, What thou seest write in a book, and send to the seven assemblies: to Ephesus, and to Smyrna, and to Pergamos, and to Thyatira, and to Sardis, and to Philadelphia, and to Laodicea.
