¹ Now a certain man in Caesarea named Cornelius was a centurion of the Cohort that is called Italian,

⁵ And He having entered into Capernaum, a centurion came to Him, imploring Him, ⁶ and saying, “Lord, my servant is lying in the house paralyzed, grievously tormented.” ⁷ And He says to him, “I having come, will heal him.” ⁸ But the centurion answering, said, “Lord, I am not worthy that You should come under my roof; but just say the word, and my servant will be healed. ⁹ For I also am a man under authority, having soldiers under me. And I say to this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes; and to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.” ¹⁰ And Jesus having heard, marveled and said to those following, “Truly I say to you, no one in Israel with faith so great have I found. ¹¹ And I say to you that many will come from east and west, and will recline with Abraham and Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of the heavens. ¹² But the sons of the kingdom will be cast out into the outer darkness; there will be weeping and gnashing of the teeth.” ¹³ And Jesus said to the centurion, “Go! As you have believed, be it to you.” And his servant was healed in that very hour.

²⁷ Then the soldiers of the governor, having taken Jesus into the Praetorium, gathered the whole cohort before Him.

⁵⁴ And the centurion and those with him keeping guard over Jesus, having seen the earthquake and the things taking place, feared greatly, saying, “Truly this was God’s Son.”

¹⁶ And the soldiers led Him away into the palace, that is the Praetorium, and they call together the whole cohort.

² And a certain servant of a centurion, who was valued highly to him, being sick, was about to die.

³ Therefore Judas, having procured the cohort and officers from the chief priests and from the Pharisees, comes there with lanterns and torches and weapons.

¹² Then the cohort and the commander and the officers of the Jews took hold of Jesus and bound Him.

⁴⁰ But Philip was found at Azotus, and passing through, he was proclaiming the gospel to all the towns until his coming to Caesarea.

⁸ And having gone forth on the next day, we came to Caesarea, and having entered into the house of Philip the evangelist, being of the seven, we stayed with him.

²⁵ But as he stretched him forward with the straps, Paul said to the centurion standing by, “Is it lawful to you to flog a man who is a Roman and uncondemned?”

²³ And having summoned certain two of the centurions, he said, “Prepare for the third hour of the night two hundred soldiers and seventy horsemen and two hundred spearmen, so that they might go as far as Caesarea,

³³ who having entered into Caesarea and having delivered the letter to the governor, also presented Paul to him.

¹ Therefore Festus, having arrived in the province, after three days went up to Jerusalem from Caesarea.

¹³ Now some days having passed, Agrippa the king and Bernice came down to Caesarea, greeting Festus.

¹ Now when our sailing to Italy was determined, they delivered both Paul and certain other prisoners to a centurion named Julius, of the cohort of Augustus.

³¹ Paul said to the centurion and to the soldiers, “Unless these remain in the ship, you are not able to be saved.”

⁴³ But the centurion, desiring to save Paul, hindered them of the purpose; and he commanded those being able to swim, having cast themselves off first, to go out on the land,
