22 Upon this the populace rose up together against them; and the generals ordered them to be stript and beaten with rods.
23 And having inflicted on them many stripe's, they committed them to prison, charging the jailor to keep them safely.
24 He having received such a charge, thrust them into the inner prison, and secured their feet in the stocks.
