Thomson⁽ⁱ⁾ ³ but God said, Thou shalt not build a house for me, to be called by my name; for thou art a warrior and hast shed much blood. ⁴ Now the Lord God of Israel chose me in preference to all my father's house to be king over Israel forever, As he chose the royalty in Juda, and my father's house out of the house of Juda and among the sons of my father, it was his pleasure that I should be king over all Israel; ⁵ so in preference to all my sons, for the Lord hath given me many sons, he hath made choice of my son Solomon, to set him on the throne of the Lord's kingdom, over Israel. ⁶ And God hath said to me, Thy son Solomon shall build my house, and my court; for I have chosen him to be my son; and I will be to him a father;
