John 11:45-50

Sawyer(i) 45 (14:6) Then many of the Jews who came with Mary, and saw what Jesus did, believed on him; 46 but some of them went away to the Pharisees and told them what Jesus had done. 47 (14:7) Then the chief priests and Pharisees convened the Sanhedrim, and said, What do we accomplish? for this man performs many miracles. 48 If we leave him thus all will believe on him; and the Romans will come and take away our place and nation. 49 And one of them, Caiaphas, being chief priest that year, said to them, You know nothing at all, 50 neither consider that it is expedient for us that one man should die for the people, and not that all the nation should perish.
