Matthew 13:36-42 Then leaving the crowds he came into the house, and his disciples came to him and said, "Explain to us the illustration of the weeds of the field."

Riverside⁽ⁱ⁾ ³⁶ Then leaving the crowds he came into the house, and his disciples came to him and said, "Explain to us the illustration of the weeds of the field." ³⁷ He replied, "He who sows the good seeds is the Son of Man. ³⁸ The field is the world. The good seeds are the sons of the kingdom. The weeds are the sons of the Evil One. ³⁹ The enemy that sowed them is the Devil. The harvest is the end of the world. The reapers are angels. ⁴⁰ As the weeds are gathered up and burned with fire, so shall it be at the end of the world. ⁴¹ The Son of Man will send his angels and they will gather up from his kingdom all stumbling-blocks and those who practice lawlessness, ⁴² and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
