Riverside⁽ⁱ⁾ ²¹ for those men have become priests without an oath, but he with an oath from him who said to him, "The Lord has sworn and will not change his mind: thou art a priest forever" — ²² by so much better is the covenant of which Jesus has become surety. ²³ And many of them became priests because they were prevented by death from continuing, ²⁴ but he, because he continues forever, has an unending priesthood. ²⁵ And so he is able to save perfectly those who come to God through him, since he is forever living to intercede for them. ²⁶ For such was the High Priest that we needed, holy, innocent, unstained, separated from sinners, and made higher than the heavens.
