¹⁰ and he, that killeth with the sword, shall be slain with the sword. Here then is the patience and faith of the saints.

² for with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged; and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured back again to you.

⁵² Then said Jesus to him, Put up thy sword into it's place; for they that take the sword shall perish by the sword:

¹ And He spake also a parable to them, to shew that men ought always to pray, and not to faint: ² saying, There was a judge in a certain city, who neither feared God, nor regarded man. ³ And there was a widow in that city, who came to him, saying, Do me justice of my adversary. ⁴ And he would not for a time: but afterwards he said within himself, Though I fear not God, ⁵ nor regard man, yet because this widow gives me trouble, I will do her justice, least by continually coming she weary me out. ⁶ And the Lord said, hear what even the unjust judge saith: ⁷ and will not God do justice for his elect that cry to Him day and night, though He bear long with them. ⁸ I tell you, He will avenge them speedily. And yet when the Son of man cometh, shall He find faith in the land?

¹⁹ In your patience therefore possess your souls.

¹¹ strengthened with all might according to his glorious power, unto all patience and long-suffering with joy;

¹² that ye would not be sluggish, but imitators of them who through faith and patience are inheriting the promises.

³⁶ For ye have need of patience, that having done the will of God ye may receive the promise. ³⁷ For yet a little while, and He, that is coming, will come, and will not delay:

³ Wherefore consider Him who endured such contradiction of sinners against Himself, that ye may not give out, fainting in your minds: ⁴ for ye have not resisted unto blood in striving against sin.

² Account it all joy, my brethren, when ye fall into various trials: ³ knowing this, that the trial of your faith worketh patience; ⁴ but let patience have it's perfect work, that ye may be entirely perfect, failing in nothing.

⁷ Wait patiently therefore, my brethren, till the coming of the Lord: behold the husbandman expecteth the precious fruit of the earth, waiting patiently for it, till he receive the former and the latter rain. ⁸ Be ye also patient, establish your hearts; for the coming of the Lord is near.

⁹ I John, who am also your brother, and companion in the affliction, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the island called Patmos, for the sake of the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ.

² I know thy works, and thy labor, and thy patience, and that thou canst not bear those that are evil: and thou hast tried those who say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars; and hast borne trouble, and hast patience;

¹⁹ and thy love, and thy service, and thy faith, and thy patience, and that thy last works are more than the first.

³ Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent: for if thou be not watchful, I will come upon thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know at what hour I will come upon thee.

¹⁰ Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which is to come upon the whole world, to try those that dwell upon the earth.

¹² Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

⁶ and thou hast given them blood to drink; for they are worthy.
